Nydhei began with a simple idea: your planning space should help you settle, not keep asking for more of your attention. The shape of the app follows from that. Your board, planner, and notes stay close, with enough room to think before you move.
This site gives that same introduction in public. It shows what is already live, explains how the app works, and leaves space for you to decide whether the pace feels right.
Design philosophy

Nydhei keeps the surface plain on purpose. The layout is meant to feel composed, with the next place you need already nearby instead of hidden behind decoration.
That calm is practical. It helps you move between planning, writing, and reviewing without feeling like the app is trying to perform around you.
Privacy stance
Private by default means the quiet parts stay yours.
Your content is encrypted on your device before it syncs, so the words you write are locked before they leave your hands.
Only the devices you link can read that content after sync. The service still needs limited metadata to keep devices in step, and Nydhei is careful not to pretend otherwise.
