Board

Board is where your work lives by status. It sorts every task into four groups — To-Do, In-Progress, Done, and On-Hold — so you can see what needs attention and what’s already handled.

Board opens on a single status at a time. Tap the tabs to move between To-Do, In-Progress, Done, and On-Hold; each tab shows its own count, so you know at a glance how much is waiting.

Above the tabs, a compact overview lays all four statuses out side by side. It’s the quickest way to take in the whole board, and you can drag a card to reorder work within its status.

Tap + to start a task. It opens in the editor, ready for as much or as little detail as you like. If you’re viewing a particular status when you add it, the task can start there.

For everything a task can hold, see Creating and editing tasks.

As a task changes, change its status — set it to In-Progress when you pick it up, On-Hold when it’s waiting on something, Done when it’s finished. You can do this from the overview or from the task’s own status field.

Within To-Do, priority and schedule decide the order, so anything urgent or time-sensitive rises to the top on its own.

When the board holds a lot, filter it down. You can narrow by category, tag, priority, schedule, and status — and by completion date when you’re looking through Done. Clear the filters to see everything in the tab again.

Deleted a task by mistake? While it’s still recoverable, you can find it in Board’s deleted-tasks area and bring it back to your list.

  • Board, Planner, and your Lists are the same tasks seen three ways. Change a task in one place and the others stay in step.
  • A category’s color travels with the task, so you can recognize your work at a glance. See Categories.
